Heraclius, with Heraclius Constantine, 610-641. 12 Nummi (Bronze, 18 mm, 6.20 g, 6 h), a crude and irregular imitation of a dodekanummion from Alexandria. Irregular mint in Egypt, perhaps under Sasanian occupation. Draped bust of Heraclius with long beard facing and draped and beardless bust of Heraclius Constantine facing; between them, long cross. Rev. Cross potent on two steps flanked by B and I. Cf. Goodwin: Some Aspects of 7th C Egyptian Byzantine Coinage, fig. 6d (for similar type). Very rare. About very fine.
